The Department of Culture, Sports and Technical Culture of Primorsko-goranska County on March 6, 2017 published the results of the "PUBLIC COMPETITION FOR SELECTION OF PROGRAMS FOR PUBLIC PUBLIC DEVELOPMENTS IN THE CULTURE OF 2017".
Through the Culture Program, the following programs are supported:
1. CULTURAL HERITAGE PRESERVATION AND HOSTING PROGRAMS,
2. ENCOURAGING CREATIVE AND CULTURAL INDUSTRIES,
3. CULTURAL MANIFESTATIONS,
4. COOPERATION OF CREATIVE AND CULTURAL INDUSTRIES WITH SCIENCES,
5. PUBLIC DEVELOPMENT
INO-PRO has submitted a project under the second item of the program "Encouraging creative and cultural industries". There were 441 non-profit organizations applying for the contest, and funding was made for 201 of them, which makes up 45% of the total number. We are pleased that the County has recognized our project called "Ghost towns" of Primorje-Gorski kotar County and assessed us as eligible for funding. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications and limited funds, the amount allocated is considerably reduced compared to the requested amount. As a result, the scope of the project itself is narrowed but for the purpose of the overall implementation of the project we will apply for other tenders where cooperation with the County will be emphasized.
Read the summary in brief on the project:
In 2011, the number of uninhabited places or "ghost towns" for Croatia was 144 with the highest number in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. , Collected all the data on residents and business from the first census to the last, and incorporated them into a completely new and innovative Internet portal. If larger funds were approved for subsequent bidding, members of INO-PRO would visit all 43 "ghost town", photograph them and determine the GPS coordinates. Photos would be taken in black and white as well as 360◦ panoramic footage. Monographic printing is also planned.

By acquiring the project, Primorsko-goranska County would gain the opportunity for social, cultural, historical and tourist valorisation and the promotion of cultural, historical and natural heritage. At the same time, the realization of the project would stimulate the awareness of unrecognized values and their revitalization. The project would be an innovative content in Croatian media and tourist offer and would be an indispensable incentive for the preservation of historical, cultural and natural heritage.
We thank the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County for their trust and cooperation and we look forward to the beginning of the project implementation.
